It’s all about love

I find it fascinating the pureness of it,the complexity of it, the simpleness of it. Unfortunately most of us earthlings don’t always do so well for ourselves when it comes to love.
Do you know why that is?

It’s because the majority of us don’t know that we need to love ourselves.

Some of you may not agree with me and that’s fine but I’m just telling my truth. It never even occurred to me that I was supposed to love myself. I would defend myself and respect myself but I never thought of loving myself. I know that’s not how it is for everyone thank God!!!

The day I discovered this for myself was a very emotional day-it was really more an emotional month as it all really set in what that meant. All those relationships from my past with friends and boyfriends that were so painful all because I looked for love externally. I needed to be loved to feel that I was of any value, add into that my big heart that always made me feel like I had to help everyone even if I knew it would never be appreciated.

I understood that the first thing I had to do after discovering this dark truth was to forgive myself. I had a good hard look at myself in the mirror and kept saying I’m sorry over and over…. doing this felt so good, so right. It was really embarrassing when I thought about how many years of my life I had lived this way. In the following days, weeks, months my life would change in so many ways that I didn’t even recognize my old self. Loving myself opened up a whole new world to me!!! When you love yourself it forces you to stay true to you and to be honest with yourself about everything.

Loving yourself allows you to experience love in a whole new way.
